BREAKING: Umahi emerges APC’s Ebonyi South senatorial candidate!

Chief David Umahi, the governor of Ebonyi State, was named the winner of the All Progressives Congress’ fresh primary election for the Ebonyi South Senatorial Zone on Sunday.

Five candidates ran in the party’s new primary election, according to Prof. Emmanuel Adebayo Kehinde, chairman of the electoral tribunal for the APC.

Members of the state executive council and other significant state stakeholders attended the election, which was held at the offices of the Afikpo North Local Government Area.

Austin Chukwu Umahi, David Umahi, Mrs. Ann Agom-Eze, Mrs. Ibiam Margret Ezenwanyi, and Mrs. Chiko Elizabeth Nwakaego were among the competitors.

Umahi received 260 votes in total to win the race, according to Prof. Kehinde, who announced the results.

He mentioned that Ezenwanyi received three votes, Nwakaego received five, and seven ballots were void.

Agom-Eze received no votes at the time this report was filed, whereas Austin Chukwu Umahi, Umahi’s younger brother, and Umahi placed first and second, respectively.

Additionally, it was discovered that Umahi’s younger brother abstained from voting.

Umahi immediately expressed his gratitude to the people of Ebonyi State for giving him the chance to win the election.
