Two women were arrested for allegedly stealing a baby in Ogun!!!

Police in Ogun State has detained two women on suspicion of snatching a baby boy.

ENTSTUFF learned that on July 25, men from the Ogun State Police Command arrested the two women.

On the mentioned date, around 9 am, one of the suspects, 53-year-old Chinyere Nwozu, was reportedly observed with the weeping one-week-old baby.

People grew suspicious when she was unable to comfort the weeping child like a mother, and they promptly called the police at the divisional headquarters in Sango Ota.

According to SP Dahiru Saleh, the DPO of Sango Ota, who received the tip, “the woman was swiftly detained,” according to a statement made on Saturday by Abimbola Oyeyemi, a police spokeswoman for Ogun.

Oyeyemi claims that during questioning, the detained Nwozu admitted that “she is not the biological mother of the child; rather, she purchased the child somewhere in Agege area of Lagos state through one Ngozi Akaeme at the amount of 500,000 naira.”

Upon learning of her confession, the ENTSTUFF discovered that officers tracked down and arrested the aforementioned Ngozi Akaeme.

According to reports, Akaeme admitted to the police that she had helped Chinyere Nwozu sell the baby, saying “she actually bargained with the baby’s original mother who agreed to sell the infant.”

Oyeyemi claimed that attempts to get Akaeme to go with the police while they tried to find the baby’s biological mother were unsuccessful.

He continued by saying that CP Lanre Bankole, the police commissioner, had ordered that the two suspects be sent to the State CIID for additional investigation and potential prosecution.
