Tinubu Picks Ex-Borno Governor As Running Mate
Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, has chosen Senator Kashim Shetima to be his running partner in the general elections in 2023.
In Daura, Katsina State, the hometown of President Muhammadu Buhari, he made the news on Sunday.
At the conclusion of an hour-long private meeting with Buhari at the President’s residence, Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, told media about the selection.
The APC stalwart claimed that Shettima was chosen because she is “competent, capable, reliable and able to be nominated as a running mate.” Shettima formerly served as governor of Borno State.
The APC presidential candidate was accompanied to Daura by Governor Aminu Masari shortly after his aircraft landed at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Airport in Katsina State.
