On Thursday night in Niger State, terrorists attacked a military post close to Zuma Rock.
Along the Abuja-Kaduna route, the area is close to Madalla town and close to Zuba.
A few minutes after 7 o’clock, the militants came to the scene and started shooting at the soldiers, killing some of them.
They gained control of the region for roughly 30 minutes, a source informed Daily Trust.
The gunmen kept firing as they moved in the direction of the expressway’s Kaduna axis.
Police officers and soldiers from Zuma Barracks have been sent to the area.
Days prior to the tragedy, in Abuja, terrorists engaged the Presidential Guards Brigade on the Kubwa-Bwari route.
The Nigerian President is guarded by the Brigade, an elite division of the Nigerian Army.
The ambush resulted in at least three personnel deaths and several injuries.
