Rasheed Hammed, also known as Oko-Ilu, a wanted suspect in a cult in Osun State, was detained.

Oko-Ilu, who allegedly killed numerous people while terrorizing Ede, was captured by members of the State police command’s anti-cultism section.

He is reportedly calming down in police custody after being apprehended at around 4 a.m. in his hideout in the state capital.

Security personnel is pursuing Rasheed, a welder by trade, for allegedly being responsible for the deaths of numerous residents of the Ede hamlet.

Hassan Adedeji, a Higher National Diploma graduate in banking and finance from Federal Polytechnic, Ede, who was awaiting his call-up letter, and an Okada rider, whose identity was not made public, were both allegedly killed as a result of “Rasidi Baale Oko’lu.”

The Osun State Police Command subsequently issued a wanted notice for him, stating that anyone harboring him would also be punished as a criminal.

Rasidi was wanted in connection with the murder, arson, ritual killing, and armed robbery, according to a statement made in March by the police public relations officer for the Osun Command, Yemisi Opalola.

“Suspect has been causing menace in Ede and the entire Osun state,” it continued. Police will treat anyone who harbors the suspect as an accessory to the crimes. Anyone with information on his whereabouts will receive a hefty reward.
